Many of our client engagements have a close link to technology, so at CBO we want to expand our team of experts in digital transformation and data to maximise client value. With this objective in mind, we are working to build out the CBO team in a number of technical disciplines, including the position of Data Solutions Consultant.

As a Data Solutions Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering impactful data solutions that drive tangible business results for our clients. You will collaborate with our project managers, business analysts, consultants, and change managers, contributing to the successful implementation of transformative initiatives.

You will sit at the heart of a community of experts helping make significant changes succeed.

The Data Solutions Consultant is responsible for ensuring that technical and data-linked engagements are delivered in a controlled and effective manner.  This includes:

  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Utilise advanced analytical techniques to extract actionable insights from complex datasets. Analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that inform strategic decision-making for our clients.
  • Solution Design and Development: Design and develop customised data-driven solutions tailored to meet the unique needs and objectives of our clients, supporting initiatives such as; data integrations/feeds, process automation and digitalisation initiatives.
  • Client Engagement and Collaboration: Serve as a trusted advisor to our clients, engaging in consultative discussions to understand their business challenges and goals. Collaborate closely with clients to translate their requirements into effective data solutions, providing expert guidance and support throughout the engagement process.

 

  • Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data analysis, solution development, and low code/no code development. Proactively identify opportunities to innovate and enhance our data consulting services, driving value for both our clients and our firm.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, project teams, and client representatives. Provide regular updates on engagement progress, key milestones, and any issues or risks that may impact delivery.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of data analysis and data solutions delivered to clients. Implement robust quality assurance processes to validate the effectiveness and performance of data-driven solutions.
  • Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to leverage collective expertise and resources. Share knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned to foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in data consulting services.

CBO provides a rounded package of training and support to enable Data Solutions Consultants to do this successfully.  The size, complexity or level of risk associated with the projects they lead is always appropriate to their personal level of experience.

In this role, you will also be expected to contribute to CBO’s work to ensure that we continue to provide an excellent quality service to clients, and a top-tier working environment for our colleagues.  This includes:

  • Contributing to the maturing of our data solutions practices and standards, as an active member of our Community of Practice.
  • Working with colleagues and clients to develop new engagements and opportunities.
  • Being an active participant in industry events – helping CBO be recognised as the ‘go to’ company for data solutions in the Channel Islands.

  • Sharp analytical skills and a keen ability to learn quickly.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and self-motivation.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proven capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Formal qualification in data analysis or a related field (e.g., Certified Data Analyst, Data Science Certification) is essential.
  • Experience of low code, no code application development platforms.

We offer a competitive salary – which is determined by the individual’s level of skills and experience.  Salary estimates will be shared with short-listed candidates.

We provide all of our employees with the highest quality equipment and support, for use in our modern offices in St Peter Port (Guernsey) or St Helier (Jersey), when working on client site, and when working from home.  Travel outside of the Channel Islands may be required but is usually infrequent.

This is a permanent contract. We are open to applicants seeking full-time or part-time positions, so long as they are willing to contract to a minimum of 25 hours per week.  To support a positive work-life balance, we also provide employees with a high level of autonomy and flexibility in the management of working time.
